AREA OBITUARIES – Swan Bowers

Lillian Swan Everett Tarver Bowers, 84, a resident of Hickman, Ky., died December 18, 2021 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.

Born February 26, 1937 in Hickman, she was the daughter of the late Jess Willard Everett and late Leone (Cole) Everett Luter. She was a member of the East Hickman Baptist Church and was retired from the former Brown Shoe Company after 23 years.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Earl Bowers of Hickman; one son, John Jeffery (Joy Ann) Tarver of Tiptonville, Tenn.; one daughter, Susan (Scott) Malone of Hickman; grandchildren, Matt O’Connor of Union City, Tenn., Clint (Carlie) Malone of Jackson, Tenn., and Judd Malone and his fiancé, Anna Reid Garrigan of Paducah, and Mike Wayne Estes of Tiptonville; and great-grandchildren, Charlee Kate O’Connor and Weston Malone; one brother, James “Humpy” Everett of Popular Bluff, Mo.; and two sisters, Mary Louise Reed of Martin, Tenn., and Lavada Fay Mansfield of Chicago, Ill.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Sidney King Everett, Richard Harold Everett and Charley Wayne Everett; and two sisters, Sandra Kay Everett and Annette Mathis.

Funeral services were held at Strong Funeral Home December 21, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. John Poor officiating. Burial followed in the Hickman City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matt O’Connor, Clint Malone, Judd Malone, David Black, Rob Garrigan and Chuck Moffitt.

Visitation will be at Strong Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 21st from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
