VANDERFORD RETIRES AFTER 50 YEARS IN BANKING INDUSTRY

Beverly Vanderford, of South Fulton, was honored on her official final day of working in the banking industry, on Dec. 30. Vanderford was first hired at the local Fulton Bank, later known as Reelfoot Bank, and currently, Security Trust, in Fulton, where she enjoyed refreshments and a walk down memory lane last week. Her career spanned 50 years, and she recalled the days when balancing the books each day meant painstaking detail as each figure was logged in by hand, in precisely the correct box and line on the entry book.
