Hughey named HCES Teacher of Month

September Teacher of the month at Hickman County Elementary is Jessica Hughey. Hughey is one of the mainstays at Hickman County Elementary.
Hughey, who many of you may still call “Miss Riley” or even “Coach Riley”, is in her 13th year at HCES.
However, it’s been during the last few years that she seems to have really found her calling as she’s moved to math after teaching reading for almost a decade.

Hughey is a dedicated educator who maintains a fierce focus is on improving students’ math comprehension, fluency and understanding.

Hughey coached girls’ basketball for Hickman County for several years, winning multiple district titles during her tenure.

That ability to motivate students and hold them to a high standard has helped make Hughey an outstanding math teacher.

She has a great sense of humor as well.
