Area seniors, ages 55 and older, are invited to a free informational event, “Preventing Crime, Protecting Yourself, Your Money and Your Property”, scheduled for Thurs., April 7 at 10 a.m. in the Harvey Vick Room of the South Fulton Municipal Complex.

The Harvey Vick Room may be accessed using the rear parking lot entrance into the Municipal Complex, into the room used during elections for voting.

Sharye Hendrix, founder and Director of the Smiles On Seniors, S.O.S. organization, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has invited Obion County Sheriff Karl Jackson to present information to include steps to take each day to protect yourself and keep communities safer; important facts about phone scams, financial fraud, door-to-door scams, healthcare fraud, identity theft, property and physical crimes.

Each person in attendance will be given a free 20-page booklet detailing all information provided, to take home.
