According to South Fulton Police Chief Mitchell Maynard, he has received calls from a local area bank regarding the potential for bank customers to be the victims of a scam.

Chief Maynard said reports have been made of bank customers with a bank issued debit card, receiving telephone calls, with the caller portraying to be a representative of the bank, and informing the person receiving the call there could be a problem with their debit card, and then requesting card information.

"Area residents should never give out personal or financial information over the telephone, when they receive a call asking for that information. Call local banking institutions and speak directly with a verified bank representative," Chief Maynard advised.
