BIG NEWS...SHOP SMALL!

November 18, 2022

Our front page of The Current looks a little different this week.

In the prime real estate location of page one, as well as the usual back page continuations from page one, you will find the spotlight turned to another vital part of our local economy, the small businesses.

This week, they ARE the news.

Actually, they are part of the reason why we are able to provide the news. The newspaper, all newspapers, live, thrive or die by the advertisements included in their pages. Subscribers and readers are vital. But each week, when you look through our pages, be sure to take note of the ad sponsors for the school page, or the kids’ page, or the church pages. Notice the small businesses, who like you, want to see the continuation of a reliable, trustworthy news source in our community, and those businesses are willing to invest in that asset.

We are fortunate to have the small business community we have in the Twin Cities. Clothing, gifts, flowers, beauty products, building supplies, decor, pharmaceuticals, baked goods, hair care services, insurance agencies, auto and mechanic supplies, and a multitude of restaurant choices. They could have chosen to locate any where, and they chose here. They chose to stay here.

Not only on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but ESPECIALLY on the Saturday after Thanksiving, Nov. 26, shoppers will have the opportunity to save big and win big by shopping small on Shop Small Saturday at area small businesses.

The Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce of Fulton, Ky. and South Fulton, Tenn. encourages area residents to support small, independently owned businesses throughout the year, as they, in turn, support the local economy.

As an incentive, with each purchase made at any small business on Nov. 26, the shopper’s name will be entered into a drawing, to win $250 in Chamber Bucks, to spend the same as cash, at any of the small businesses listed on the Chamber Buck certificate.

There is no limit on the number of businesses where a purchase may be made that day to enter.

With every purchase at every location, the buyer’s name will be entered into a drawing for the Chamber Bucks.

During the week following Shop Small Saturday, the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce will collect the names at each business, and combine all entries to conduct the drawing.

The winner will be contacted by the Twin Cities Chamber of Commerce.
