AREA OBITUARIES - George Roy Armstrong

George Roy Armstrong of Clinton, Ky., passed away Saturday evening, Dec. 3, 2022, at Clinton-Hickman ICF in Clinton, Ky.

George was born in Saltcoats, Saskatchewan, Canada on June 5, 1932 to the late Wilfred Armstrong and Margaret McFarland Armstrong.

He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Fulton Rotary Club. George won Silver and Bronze medals in shuffleboard at the Senior Olympics, was a member of Ontario's Hockey Hall of Fame, ran in New York, Boston and Toronto marathons and award winner

in many sports. He was a machinist and co-owner of Fulton Machine Shop and had lived in this area for over 30 years.

George is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joyce Dall Armstrong of Clinton, Ky.; two sons, Brent Armstrong (Karen) of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and David Armstrong (Joyce) of Meaford, Ontario, Canada; two stepsons, Kim Rossignol (Michele) of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Keith Rossignol of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, Ashley Forward (David), Joelle Zarifi (Arkian), Cody Armstrong (Jillian), Hailey Collison (Devin), Colton Armstrong (Sidney), Misty Cates (Bill), Christi Babbs (Royce), Kim Rossignol Jr. (Mandie), Christopher Rossignol, Rory Rossignol (Christine), Michaela Rossignol (Mike), Amanda Rossignol (Sarah); 15 great-grandchildren, Sage Taylor, Elina Forward, Theodore Elson, Layne Collison, Colby Collison, Cyrus Zarifi, Elise Crider (Elijah), Morgan Jez, Tristan Cates, Kendall Cates, Riley Rossignol, Hadley Rossignol, Mia Rossignol, Maci Rossignol and Hunter Babbs; one brother, Jack Armstrong of Cavan, Ontario, Canada; a sister, Marian Hardwicke (Doug) of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada; and daughter-in-law, Patty Winstead Rossignol of Water Valley, Ky.

He is preceded in death by his parents, stepsons, Kevin Rossignol and Ken Rossignol, two brothers, Kenneth Armstrong and Val Armstrong and sister, Eileen Bowers.
