RAILROADERS REALIGN HOME FIELD IDENTITY
The 2025 Fulton Railroaders home field season opener took place May 31 in the comfort of their home field, a place sometimes referred to as "The Yard" but always honorably remembered as Lohaus Field. Wayne Lohaus, the longtime local coach who taught and inspired countless young people, was honored preceding the game against Full County Rhythm, as one of the new owners of the Fulton Railroaders shared with the crowd, the field would now and forever be named for him, and the legacy he established. Coach Lohaus thanked those in attendance and also paid tribute to his wife, Peggy Lohaus, a longtime educator, who was present for the recognition, along with their daughter, Alecia. Campbell asked Lohaus if he had any words of wisdom for the 2025 Railroaders. The response from Coach Lohaus? "Let's play ball!" (Photos by Benita Fuzzell)
