'INDUSTRIAL SIZE' BOOST FOR RUSTY -- Kayser Automotive CEO Stefen Schutte, above top, last week presented a check to Fulton City Pound volunteer Darcy Linn, and "Rusty", a dog who ended up at the pound, with injuries requiring a surgical procedure. TEARING DOWN WALLS TO BUILD UP COMMUNITY – On location at Fulton’s Fourth Street house construction April 9, built on April 8, using the SIP construction method, were Brenda Weaver, Community Ventures, Eric Couts, Master SIP Builder, Fulton City Manager Mike Gunn, FHCEDP President Mark Welch and Fulton County Judge/ Executive Jim Martin. Welch noted “a house is where jobs sleep” and applauded the receipt of grant funding through USDA, the Rural Partners Network and Kentucky Housing, to create more housing opportunities in the local area. Gunn expressed appreciation to Fulton Code Enforcement Officer Nathan Lamb, for his efforts in demolishing 83 dilapidated houses over the past few years, to make way for new construction. Judge Martin also credited the RPN, for providing resources to Fulton, Fulton County, Hickman and South Fulton. (Photo by Benita Fuzzell. See the story, page 8.)
