Red Devils denied win at hands of Dresden Lions

The undefeated Dresden Lions continued their winning streak for the 2022 football season, with a 56-6 victory over their Sept. 23 hosts, South Fulton’s Red Devils.

The Red Devils’ scored only once, in the fourth quarter of play, on a 20 yard pass from SFHS Quarterback Brady McFarland to Dallas Whitehead.

Dresden’s Turnbow scored first on a 71 yard kick-off return, with Mark Maddox kicking the extra point for the Lions. Two more touchdowns on a 37 yard run by Oliver and a 30 yard pass from Oliver to Mitchelll accounted for the 21-0 Dresden lead going into the second quarter, after Maddox once again made good on the extra point kick.

In the second quarter, Oliver ran in from three yards out and 28 yards out, plus found Johnson on a 28 yard pass for three more trips to the endzone, with Maddox kicking the extra point each time, 42-0 at the half.

Dresden’s Mace Wilson accounted for the third quarter touchdown and Oliver for the fourth quarter score.

South Fulton’s Whitehead had 15 yards of rushing in 13 carries and Bryant Kimmons, four yards in one.

Dresden’s Tatum Oliver had 100 yards in six possessions.

Red Devil Conner Allen had 45 yards in two receptions and Conner O’Neal, eight yards on his catch.

South Fulton’s Brady McFarland had 158 passing yards, connecting on 11 of 31 passes.

Dresden had 351 total offensive yards, to South Fulton’s 160. South Fulton recorded 10 first downs, and Dresden, 15.

Bryant Kimmons had seven tackles for the Red Devils, to lead his team, Zach Hannon had 4.5 tackles, Will Clapper had two, Jacob Nagle, 1.5, and Conner O’Neal, Conner Allen and Conner Lawrence, one a piece against Dresden.

Red Devil Tim Davis picked off an interception and team mate Dylan Bynum recovered a fumble in South Fulton’s effort.
