Severe weather update for June 4-7

June 04, 2025

(Editor's Note: The following was received by The Current from the National Weather Service of Paducah on Wed., June 4.)

We have an unsettled period of weather ahead through at least Saturday. A few strong to severe storms can't be ruled out this evening into tonight and again on Thursday. However, a slightly greater threat for severe storms may develop on Friday afternoon. Damaging winds appear to be the greatest threat.
There is also a concern for some flash flooding tonight into Thursday morning (mainly across portions of southern IL and southeast MO) due to training storms over the same locations. It's quite possible that localized swaths of 3 to 5 inches could materialize by Noon on Thursday.
