Red Devils’ full roster provides depth, heart for 2019-20
The Red Devil’s 2019-2020 season began Nov. 19, as the team traveled to Gibson County.
The Red Devils have a total of 16 players, eight of which are new players, Cade Malray, Conner Allen, Riley Alexander, Blake Rodehaver, Mason Harper, Jordan Brown, Zach Hannon, and Dylan Ruddle.
Head coach Pete Angelos said, “We are hoping that these players are going to let us go farther into a game and give us more depth from the bench.”
Coach Angelos named Beau Britt, Drew Barclay, Bryce McFarland, Rider Whitehead, and Brock Brown, all juniors, as his starting five while, Cade Malray, Dylan Jackson and Jordan Brown will be the first off the bench.
Coach Angelos said, “The starting five’s strengths are that they can shoot and pass the ball effectively in order to get the job done.”
“I see Brock Brown as our heart player, however I see Bryce McFarland has leadership quantities.” Coach Angelos commented when asked who he saw as the emerging team leader.
“Our biggest challenge for this season is going to be getting more rebounds than the other team,” the coach said.
Coach Angelos’ main goal for the season is to complete the season with a winning record and compete in the district playoff game.
As we are looking ahead at the schedule Coach Angelos said, “Our toughest opponents will be Union City and Bradford.”
